Hawaii 2006

Since the early 1900s the Armed Forces are present at the island group of Hawaii. Main reason for this is the strategic location in between the Continental United States (CONUS) and the East. In 1941 the Japanese reckoned this and subsequently attacked the military installations at the island Oahu as retaliation for the freezing of Japan's assets in the US and oil embargo.

Nowadays the Armed Forces are still largely present at Hawaii and 3Greens.nl had the opportunity to have a closer look at 2 of the 3 services based here. We were able to visit one of the CH-53 sqns based at MCB Hawaii and the Aviation assets of the 25th Infantry Division at Wheeler AAF.
